2015 News

January 2016

2015 was a great year, here’s a recap of some completed projects:

I wrote Uncanny Valley, an article published in PIN-UP magazine issue 19, theorizing a productive use of the uncanny valley as an accelerationist strategy for cultural production in the luxury condo render world we live in…

…published a review of Renzo Piano’s Whitney Museum in Frog magazine’s 10 year anniversary issue

…made several of inflatable pavilions for parties and arts festivals, like this one on a New York SoHo rooftop in May…

…then in August I taught an inflatable-making workshop in Callicoon, Upstate New York, in the ballroom of the Western Hotel, built in 1853…

…which traveled to Future Firm during the Chicago Architecture Biennial to the exhibition Tropical Mining Station hosting a panel discussion led by FOAM (Ryan John King and Katya Zavyalova) and Nick Axel on the blockchain and other architecture/tech/art things…

…and while we were there, staged a short-lived guerilla party at Mies van der Rohe’s Crown Hall…

…then brought the inflatables back to Callicoon for their annual Art Walk…

…then with my friends in Stockholm AT-HH, we submitted to the Oslo Architecture Triennale Call for Intervention Strategies, curated by After Belong Agency. Our proposal for the neighborhood of Tensta, outside Stockholm, wasn’t selected – but then again, no one’s was. Here’s our competition submission:

…oh and I also played around in Processing occasionally…

…here’s to an exciting (and more frequently updated) 2016 🎉
